Yup – when we say large format, we mean LARGE format.

When we were first approached by the team at The Harbourfront Center to take a look at how to help them brand the North Wall (approx. 18’ x 80’) on their building we couldn’t wait.

They used to have three sizable back lit light boxes on that wall and decided it was time for them to go.

We evaluated a couple different options of some hidden frame systems that would allow us to put up flex face banners in a variety of size formats. Needless to say the framing system was getting quite intricate, and fairly expensive.

Before going any further the decision was made to paint the entire exterior brown to clean it up a little.

While investigating options the dynamite creative team that leads the marketing department at HFC recognized the fact that they needed something on that wall.

As time drew on, the Junior program was right around the corner, so they came to us with a concept of branding that space with some outdoor pressure sensitive vinyl that could be removed after the event. This piece was 6’ tall x 36’ long!!

We learned some valuable lessons during this install as a result of an older, sagging building, and an older, sagging sidewalk, making the graphic appear to be convex, when in fact it wasn’t!

Quick thinking and great directive on the part of the creative director there and we were able to trim the graphic on site, giving the illusion that it was straight!!

We have since compensated for that with some file manipulation on the subsequent projects prior to production.

Junior was a HUGE success, and the exposure they got form the North wall along Queens Quay was amazing!

Brave came along shortly after Junior – so, again, looking for BIG impact, the cracker jack creative team at Harbourfront decided the split the panels up to cover even more real estate. The impact was certainly impressive!! 7 panels that were 9’ wide x 13 ½’ tall!!

Challenged yet again to go even bigger, next came along the Toronto International Festival of Authors – this piece is HUGE. This monster is 16’ tall x 50’ long!

You simply can’t miss the amazing splash of color as you move along Queens Quay, no matter if you are in a car, a cab, the streetcar, walking or on a bike (and careful - there are LOTS of bikes down there!!).

Speak to us next time you want to make a BIG impression.
