What is the difference between a coated and uncoated sheet of paper?

All paper starts out uncoated (like the finish on the paper from your photocopier).

In the manufacturing process, clay is applied to the surface of the paper that is destined to be coated. The coating can be a matte (silk or dull) with minimal calendaring ( polishing) or gloss coated (shiny) with add’l calendaring (polishing). It all takes place in the paper mills and we purchase what your project requires.

Do you have different options for booklet or catalogue binding?

Yes there are several options available, the two most common being Saddle Stitch and Perfect binding. Other options include Plastic Coil, Wire-O and Cerlox binding.

Does the quantity I order make a big difference to the cost per unit?

It depends if you are printing in a digital environment, where the cost per piece remain static vs a conventional litho environment where the higher the quantity the lower the cost per unit.
